The plug and play harness is included with the DLI II's we sell....i heck of lot easier than making your own..and making it nice and clean looking.

yeah I wouldn't consider this a MUST HAVE mod for everyone. It clearly isn't. But the people who have installed it have all pretty much said they felt a difference with their car.

whether it's worth $485 or not, who knows. People sometimes buy the damnedest things for their cars that don't do anything at all

It's gotta be doing something, I picked up 3 miles per gallon when I put mine on. Its the same concept as the MSD boxes used by almost every race car in NHRA today.

what gap would you recommend for 2 step colder plugs at oh, say, 14psi?
no way I, or anyone else can tell you....every car likes different gaps, especially as plugs vary and tunes can vary widely

You know, I put a quart of oil in my car the other day (I was a bit low) and the car drove smoother after I did. (placebo effect) I respect everyone's oppinion but I like seeing unbiased numbers before making a final decision on how well something works.

Sharif, for $85 I would need to save a couple hours of work. There is no way the plug and play harness will save that much time. I agree, it will be easier, but if done right it won't be any cleaner. I'm not sure how exactly it plugs in, but I would guess it would add another complete plug, which could clutter things up. I know that not everyone would want to save $85 to hardwire it, but as I said before this is already an expensive mod. If I could knock $85 off the price and it would only cost me 30 extra minutes of install time I would be all for it.

What plug gap do you generally run on boosted cars with the DLI?

*From an Evo point of view*

We don't need to run these until we start running alky injection and/or bigger power numbers. For stock through full bolt-on Evo's it's just not worth the ~$400 for minimal (if any) effect. However, once alky comes into play, there's a very good chance that we start getting misfires. The DLI takes care of that.

I would imagine this would be the same for the Z's.

Damn... that sounds like the pain. How did you manage to do all that? How many launches/passes at the strip did you have? Did you do AWD donuts (don't lie)?

Damn, they sold out and went pink? LOL... pink is just a faded red.

The only thing I know that's different about the tranny is the gearing... much more agressive on the IX. Mine has taken a lot of abuse and has given me no problems. What kind of fluid were you guys using?

Default Update

***UPDATE***

well, it's not been a week, but things are really starting to point towards the HKS DLI II murdering the P0300... i'd been getting this code continually with the UTEC after the built motor, greddy twins and tune... i am not running insane amounts of boost...only 14psi... so, i didn't quite understand why it would pop up a few miles after being cleared...

after hearing sharif talk about the sensitivity of the UTEC, ECU and ignition sensors, i decided to be the guinea pig for the HKS to see if it would indeed rectify the random cylinder misfires... it was on a whim and indeed a longshot... but, i've now ran her three days in a row...banging pretty hard...and nothing...nada...no SES!

so, we shall continue to test...but, it's looking very promising!
