Hey Smoker, The Twin Power ignition amplifier incorporates both the CDI and transistor method ignition to provide optimum spark duration and maximum voltage output, resulting in crisper throttle response and a smoother engine powerband. It's definetly a improvement for NA and even better for Forced Induction. If your intereted, you can PM me. HKS has one specifically for the 350z and G35 which is a direct plug and play so you dont have to hard wire it in.

You know, as simple and easy as this product would be to do a before and after dyno, no one has ever done it.

I will definitely not consider this piece unless someone shows me that it:

a) solves an existing problem/limitation (I don't believe I have a problem with spark)

or

b) adds horsepower (I don't see how this would add hp though)

To me, this product is snake oil until someone proves otherwise.

I have seen similar "ignition upgrades" for old, beat up chevys / mustangs etc including brand new top of the line spark plug wires. Guess what... it was good for 2-3hp, well within the range of error on the dyno.

the way I understood it, you might gain some slight power because the flame is bigger and more intense so you absolutely burn all the air/gas mix while it's in piston chamber instead of 90-95% or whatever of it, then the rest burning as it's exiting through the headers and finally burned for sure by the cats - if cats are installed

so I'd think for cars with test pipes and FI, the HKS will reduce the chances of shooting flames out the back of the exhaust since it'll burn more in the cylinder chamber

a bigger and more efficient explosion in the cylinder chamber means more power is being made to turn the crankshaft

So how different is the Sun Cyber Speed Hyper Force System to the HKS twin ignition system?

people always bring that thing up. That Sun thing is just a box that doesn't really do anything. What it's supposed to do is stablize voltage from the battery by taking any power spikes or surplus power and temporarily storing it so that when the power dips below normal it'll fill in those gaps with the stored power

think of the Sun system as a voltage stablizer or AKA the ULTIMATE grounding kit...I have one, trust me, it's junk

think of the HKS ignition amp as a more heavy duty race ignition system with bigger and hotter spark - which actually does something that you can feel
