Yep, this is looking very promising. Prior to the HKS DLI, and two step colder plugs, the RCM code would come on...even at idle in the parking lot. I am crossing my fingers that this is a permanent solution!

Since you have the FCON now, nothing will permenatly get rid of the SES. But you definately DON't have a random cylinder misfire code...and that is the code that Stormcrow is refering to.

Just enjoy the FCON...a SES is nothing.

another day of pounding on the car and still no SES light... i've yet to go this long without it after being reset since i've had the car... still don't want to jinx it, but i'm thinking this is the fix for the RCM and UTEC issue... sharif and i will be trying to figure out if it's the 2 step colder plugs, HKS DLI II, or a combination of both... logically, it seems like the HKS is responsible...

LOL....yup...there is a little of wigling and playing needed to disconnect the connectors...but it would probably take 10 mins or so.

no I've had the PO300 multiple misfire code since forever now even way before the Fcon - like 2.5 years now. I think it's from my cams install. That's the only thing I can trace it back to.

I have a SES on my dash since the Fcon install, but have no idea what it is. Sam checked it before I left so I don't think it's really anything anyway

Default Final Update

*Final UPDATE*

looks like this test failed... yesterday after starting the car, the SES light didn't go out... i stopped by Forged Performance to check the computer in hopes that it may be another code, but sure enough, it was the dreaded P0300... what's odd is that i drove it harder and more often within the past week than i have since owning it... maybe the HKS kept it at bay longer, who knows...or maybe it was just a fluke... what gets me is why it normally comes on when it's at idle... *shrugs*

sorry to you guys who were hoping for an easy fix to the P0300 and UTEC...

Wait till you have kids.

On the SES topic, has anyone tried troubleshooting with Cipher/Consult as per the service manual for P0300. I'll keep my fingers crossed for my build. The troubleshooting looks like a PITA, but just wondering if someone has stepped all the way through it...

I ran across this thread searching for information on the HKS Twin Power DLI II ignition amplifier. It seems worthwhile to me. It appears to be similar to the MSD units I used to use... except that the DLI II doesn't mention Multi-Spark Discharge.

Several of you mentioned in this thread that you planned to dyno with and without the HKS Twin Power DLI II module. Did any of you ever actually make before and after dynos of the DLI II module?

I would be especially interested in any NA results.

Thanks.

Not a bad idea on high boost cars. I wouldnt say it's "required" but at some point, they will help.

Thanks for the information, Sharif... It's just something I've been thinking about.

Just talked to Sandy a few minutes ago... If she says someone from Florida ordered a can of ATS fluid and said to give you congratulations on your stop-smoking efforts... it was me... Keep up the good work!

If you do go for it, make sure you get a vehicle specific harness and install it correctly. I have heard of a few users who damages their stock coils from over amplification.

Personally, If I was F/I I would spend extra for the OkadaProjects Coils.
