how could you misinstall it? It comes with the harness and it only plugs in one way!

I've got it on my car...figured it couldn't hurt anything given the rpms I run. It's

Any specific reason you bumped this 5 month old thread to say only 'same here'???

I've heard the HKS has a tendency to shorten Coil Pack life. Runs them pretty hard.

I've read the same on various forums, but not for our platform specifically - perhaps the same applies though.

I like that boost-a-spark unit that only activates under boost. I didn't really investigate alternatives to the HKS, but I certainly will now. No PNP harness for the boost-a-spark .

You can wire everything in at the ECU though, so you a PNP harness really isn't that necesarry. I would think anytime you raise the input voltage to the coil and change the spark duration you will shorten the life of the coil.

Hey, Kevin... Not all of us build circuit boards in our spare time... I'd go for the PNP harness if I got one.

Certainly makes sense... The flip side is that we build these motors to wear out sooner... what's a couple of coil packs...

I talked to Jeremy a while ago about adding one of these to my NA build. He said the ignition was one of the strongest points of the VQ and advised me not to bother with it. I figure that if a Tuner has the option to sell you something, and recommends that you don't get it, that means that you really don't need it.

Maybe it would be different for FI.

I've only heard of a few issues with our ignition systems and its always been with the UTEC. fwiw... (I could be mistaken, but that's my recollection)
