Red face Grounding kits..

My buddy who has a pretty beefed up Corolla Type S (hahahhahahhaha) told me the single best mod for a car money wise is a grounding kit and how awesome your car runs after installing one..is he crazy or are they worthwhile?

What exactly do they do/improve?

if im not mistaken but grounding kits are just a new central wiring unit replacement that helps improve electricity flow throughout the car. I heard they are helpful for stabalizing resistance and voltage throughout grounding points around the car. Its to help idle and drivability... dunno if im right or not

it will improve idle and throttle response. IMO the change is only noticable in cars old enough to have some deterioration in the grounding cable. I installed a kit in my Z and didn't notice any difference, but it's pretty, so what the hey. as to the kit, it's a series of cables that tie into your ground to your battery and bolt to different points on your block/chassis.

there are threads somewhere around here that go into more detail, but I couldn't find the links quickly...

my engine bay isn't that interesting, so no pics of mine. others on this site have them, though -- just look for the telltale sign of extra random wires circling the top of the motor (a couple of the mounting points are on the plenum and the front of the block)

Grounding kits are just wires. You can get wires for cheap. I don't understand why people spend $100+ on wires that cost $10

Absolutely nothing.

Trust, the engineers at Nissan (and Toyota) have already specced a ground system that is more than adequate.

Grounding kits are a waste of money.

The only reason I installed mine was because I was bored, plus like the other guy said, it looks agh emm "pretty"??
