Do you have larger than stock wheels or wider tires?

It's the only reason why you would need a aftermarket power steering cooler. The stock one works fine for the OEM wheel/tire combination. The aftermarket ones are used for bigger wheels, wider tires because the power steering pump gets overworked.

Wouldn't the stock power steering pump possibly get overworked no matter what size wheel/tire combination after high flogging on autoX or the like?

It's not that your wrong, but I would say that 99% of Z owners don't need this mod period. Not to mention its a messy install.

Don't get me wrong, I am running 265/35/19 Michelin PS2s on 19 x 9.5 +12 Volk TE37s up front and I bought the nismo power steering cooler not because I needed it, but because I am a lunatic and I like buying parts that I don't need just because.

Oversized tires or not this is not a necessary mod unless its for a really serious track car operated in a hot weather climate, which in that case the car would not be using larger than stock wheels.

LOL - this thread is classic.
How dare you waste $125.

Seriously, from what i've read, the Nismo power steering cooler would be desireable for people that maintain high RPM's. Therefore, the power steering pump will compress fluid at a high rate then it was designed for which creates much more heat. Not how much you wack your 20 inch wheels left or right.

Did I hear wrong?

The simple answer is yes it will work on the G35. You will probably need to play with the mounts a little bit to get it to work right. Me and friend messed with the mounts and got it mounted off the Spearco intercooler fan shroud mounting bolts which positioned it right in the passenger side air inlet vent of the stock bumper..

I'll remember that next time I run my car at 7500rpm for 5 days. lol

This is only true if the pulley has been changed to a smaller unit. The OEM unit is made for that engine which in fact can rev that high. I think if you are running such high rpm's your motor might blow, or your coolant might boil before that power steering pump fails.

Actually PS coolers are nice for autoX or drifting, any event where you abuse your steering rack. I've even heard of people boiling their PS fluid while drifting, so a cooler definitely can't hurt

^^I'm a sucker for ARC products and other JDM parts that give no better gains than products readily available in the States for 1/2 the price
Power Enterprise Cats on the way too
