Default New Idea for oil cooler mounting location

Im installing an oil cooler in my car and i really like how my front grill looks and I think by mounting my oil cooler infront of the intercooler or on the side it will look kinda stupid and not vary nice. Anyone have any other suggestions to mounting locations? I want people to see that I do have one w/o it looking so stupid.

yay or nay. i tought about making a new cut out here and using weather molding/rubber to trim the opening and mounting the oil cooler behind it. my little stupid ms paint drawing

I didn't vote cuz I haven't decided either. I'm in the same boat and not sure if I want to cut up the bumper.

Is there any way to V-mount it? That wood be unique and very functional. You might not see it though, but i personally don't think they look that good to show off.

I agree. I'm not worried about how it looks. I just want to find the best spot for air flow...

it doesnt need direct airflow from the front, mount it in the bumper and give it a few inches of space air accululates up there in the front portion and should run over the cooler.

or get some brake ducting and duct the air from that front intake hole to the oil cooler, the IC is doing a fine job of cooling your intake charge.

If it were me, I'd get something like the Vertex front bumper and install an oil cooler behind one of the side openings, and maybe a nice upgraded P/S cooler on the other. I believe Chebosto did something similar, but I'm not sure what front bumper he has.

Thinking about installing an oil cooler & power steering cooler in my F/I Z. I am thinking about locating them inside the wheelwell behind the plastic covers. Sound good????

not alot of room there at all, but a good location and just about the only place to put it with a front mount, but you would be well served to enlarge the plastic openings in the wheel well covers through to get the air out faster

In "istan's" Vortech Roadster, we mounted the tranny cooler behind the right bumper reflector and the oil cooler behind the left reflector. We removed the reflectors, removed the washer fluid reservoir and added more vents to the inner fender liners. Working good so far.

Yeah, I was just about to say that. haha. I think we may need to do some trimming to the reflector hole, but it seems ok now. I'll get pics up when I get my car back.. hopefully soon.

Why not mount the coolers like chestons, left and right side, but use some of that round ducting tubes to direct air from the front two sides of the intercooler up to the oil coolers? I think that would look better then cutting the bumper, not sure how you would duct an exhaust vent though, maybe behind it to the bottom?
