The 15,000 Power Project
Man, there are some people on here with SO much knowledge it's crazy. I just read through the whole GTM thread about their stroker kits. mmmmmmm
My question... What can I do to get the most power and the best engine sound out of my $15,000 budget?? I love the high note of an race engine like that in the 911 GT3, but I don't want to be replacing components every few months.
I will NOT be tracking the car much, if at all.
Here's what I want out my engine:
1. High pitched note - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Et__cwwIdQA
2. Power that is fun on the street. I don't need to compete as this is just for pleasure on nice days.
3. My acceleration goal is between 4 and 5 seconds to 60mph.
4. If I go NA, I'd like to rev to 8000-8500.
-------------
SO, based on the vast knowledge of members here... please share your advice on whether to go FI or stay NA, and please suggest companies to talk to about accomplishing what you recommend.
Thank you!
Ian

What is wrong with you people? I'm not trying to say i'm rich or something if that's why you're so offended.... From what I've seen it just costs big $$$ to get reliable power.
Thanks in advance to the more mature members who answer later on...
Nexx, how's the vortech working out for you? How many miles do you have with that setup and how much boost are you running? I was thinking about going the SC route as I could keep the gooooooooood sound.

lol, i don't want a gt3. I guess nobody hears like I do... Everyone misunderstands me when I talk about exhaust notes. Like... being a v6 the Z is a 1+5, where as a v10 is a 1, octave up and then a major third up. These are musical terms talking about how pitches relate to eachother. When I hear a Pagani Zonda F, I smell and taste certain things (to an extent) and images come to mind, and I feel REALLY good. I think my mind really likes 5ths... I read about other people who have this and from what I remember, it's called synesthesia.
All I'm saying is that I want more power but I want to keep the 5th degree (the high note) of the VQ sound. Does that make sense? I can't think of any better ways to explain it. I HATE the way turbo VQs usually sound (the BORLA TRUE DUAL SOUND).... the high pitch (5th note) is gone. I know I can't do without that note. If anything I want to amplify it.
I'm just asking for suggestions on how to go about getting more power without losing that sound that sends chills up my spine.

Thank you very much for the suggestion about the greddy TT. Can I keep the high note (5th up) somehow, instead of having that borla true dual sound?
lol@honda.... I don't want high revving just to rev high... it's the sound... I know I have a problem. It's better than sex.

Other than that buy a Honda for the high reving.

very amusing.
but back to the question. I think you should go with a TT set up. 15k is a perfect amount to spend on it right. Don't try to worry about sound too much. And also, i hope you have a house and all the good stuff before you dump this kind of money in this car.
