How difficult would it be...
to install a Nismo LSD in Base model at home? I realize changing out pumpkins would be fairly easy but what about straight LSD install.
any info appreciated...can't find much in searching for this

I have never done it but from the info I have gathered it is fairly difficult to do. I am not going to attempt it. I just did the full pumpkin swap. You can send it away to a shop and they will do it for you.

I don't think it would be that bad... I've seen it done on the speed channel and aside from an impact wrench, and rubber mallet, all you would need is a set of ballz and workbench to make the swap a DIY project.
Too many people are afraid of working on their own cars. It's not rocket science. Just be patient and do you homework up front.

I have helped my friend do a DIY install with his Kaaz 2-way. In the end we got it all together, only to realize that we had no way of shimming it. We just took the diff installed in the pumpkin to a local drivetrain shop and had it shimmed and then put pumpkin cover back on and install back on car.

Can this be done in a day?
