NEW TRANNY :) clutch replacement?
So i went to the dealership today and had my recall done. all the hoses were cracked and going to break it looked like. so i hung around the workshop area for about 4 hours talking 2 the mechanic. after i realized he was a nice guy and loved my car, i started talking about how bad my 5th gear grinds. so he went ahead and ordered me a new tranny without even test driving it cuz hes such a nice guy
. only thing is, since the tranny is going to be out should i have the clutch done anyway? its gonna cost me about $300 to have the clutch done. i drive an 03 with 42k miles on and the clutch doesnt slip at all or have any problems what so ever. Thanx for your input guys

You should probably change your clutch out right now. It is probably cheaper and will save you time in the future. You can upgrade to a light weight flywheel as well.
Your average clutch install is generally 400 + dollars in labor.

Just had my tranny replaced under the 5 yr./60K drivetrain warranty. Wow... what a difference. You are really going to like the new transmission (much better than the original). I have a 2003 Performance model with 30K miles.
The dealer did suggest a new clutch, but not for free. They offered me the new clutch for $400 off their usual price, which was $1800. $1400 was the estimate for a new clutch.
Of course I declined.
