If you send your own you shouldn't have any problems

I think one of the main issues is that we cannot read the TCM over the CAN bus. As far as I know (and I have checked with several shops), no one has cracked the TCM firmware. If you could read that, I would speculate that not only would some of the mechanical modifications be unnecessary but problem cases like this wouldn't be such a mystery...

I believe you need the Consult to read any codes in the TCM. The 5AT is certainly a challenge to say the least. It sounds like possibly a TCM issue. Who did the install? Are you sure it is an 05 VB?

Sharif had a customer that actually had 2 faulty valve bodies. The odds of that are pretty small but nonetheless possible.

SGP has a fair amount of experience with auto trans and I have not heard of any issues with their VB upgrade. I would count on at least a couple of weeks. Call Mark or Thomas @ SGP to get you VB done ASAP.

I believe GTM is now offering a rebuilt 5AT also but not sure if they are doing VB upgrade only.

I'm really hoping the SGP trans going in next week works well.

I have an '03 FX35 and looking for a VB upgrade

If it's not working between 350Z/G35 and FX35, do you think the '03 to '05 difference will definitely not work?

Def will not work. You should use the same year. The TCM module was moved inside the VB starting in 04.5. You might be able to do 03-04, but def not 03-05.
