Also the billet gears were intended for drag setups mostly. Topsecret disables the vtc system on most of the big VQ installations that you see from them.
I may be wrong though.

I think that the reason they disable the VTC like you mention is because they don't want to use expensive EMS's like the Marielle (spelt wrong) to tune the cam phasing. Either that or they are not familiar or do not have it avaliable to them.
Other then that I truely can not see a reason to get rid of such a good device unless you are tunning your car for just a specific RPM range in which you will race the car.

Hey, Is anybody out there using the NISMO adjustable cam gears?
Why has NISMO stopped their manufacturing?
Is there a problem with them?
Prefer not to drop nearly $800 buck and delay the project again for something that has a problem or is just not worth it!!! Any input would be appreciated!!!

The car is getting old at this point and everything they (NISMO) are doing is around the new VQ motor, and the upcoming GTR. So as the car ages, the old parts are no longer offered. Happens with the tuning arm of every Japanese manufacturer. The parts are offered for as long as they feel like offering them basically.
It's not a part you'll find in wide use here for a simple reason - I can think of maybe 4-6 people who have motor setups and cams that would warrant them. As such, its not a part everyone needs, and not a part alot of people buy. Factor that into the fact that very few ecu's on the market can even take advantage of them, and you've got a very very very narrow segment of people who even could use them if they wanted to. We've sold to date, about a dozen sets total, and the majority went to people who you'll never read about on the boards.

And why do people call the Nismo CVTC sprockets "adjustable cam gears"?
They're indentical to stock except they have a 55° sweep instead of the stock sprockets' 40°. If they're adjustable cam gears, so are the stockers. :laff:
