jwt flywheel swap
Hey guys, i was just wondering how hard it is to swap out a clutch and flywheel on the Z. What tools are needed, and what kind of problems would you expect to run in to. i'm going to use a lift just fyi. thanks.
It is not hard but, main thing is being able to handle the heavy tranny when removing it, only tool not everyone has is a torx bit for the flywheel bolts, the rest are all regular hex heads.
this job will be a bear on jack stands, due to the 150lb trans that you will need to muscle around and properly align. I would try to find use of a lift, and a trans jack.
pulling the tranny out of the Z is rather easy. Just make sure you have the JWT clutch alignment tools and you should be good. Also, if you haven't pulled a tranny out of a car before, then i wouldn't attempt this one. Nothing out of the normal, but every clutch swap has unexpected problems.
