The parts guy at my Nissan dealership tells me they will have a flywheel available for the 350 soon. I know UR racing has one now for around 700 bucks. My parts guy says the one he is getting will be about 500. He seems to think this will reclaim alot of power.

Ya Ya I know the deal lighter rotating weight = more performance, but what do you guys think? Is it worth it to drop that kind of money on a flywheel? What type of RWHP are we talking about guys? Any thoughts, speculations, balpark guesses, uneducated ignorant statements?

Back in the day I knew a guy who can make them for more around 200bux!!!

Shoot, if someone buys one, I can mic. it out and start making them out of the same material for 1/2 of what they sell for.

Impossible to say for a couple fo reasons:
1. gains will vary between gears dramatically
2. unorthodox web site cannot be accurate with their 2.7/lb claim as each car is geared differently
3. gains will not be substantuated on the dyno either as gains are found in mostly 1-2 and some times 3, most dyno in 3 or 4
4. On my current car (ford probe GT 2.5L V6 164 hp) some mathemeticians have figured wit ha 9lb FW down form the 22Lb stock unit that 1st will realized ~18 WHP gain, 2nd will see around ~10 WHP, 3rd ~2-4WHP

These numbers fit with the track times ealized after install. I can say that with my 9lb FW i have trouble with traction in 1st, you will be hard pressed the chirp 2nd after the install but you will b faster.

700 is not a horrid price and this will reallly change the attitude of your car!

I have ordered an UR flywheel about a month ago, so hopefully I should be getting it soon. And when the stock flywheel costs $1200, $700 sounds quite like a bargain.

Why would you ever order a new stock flywheel though?

Well, if you're impatient enough to wait for an aftermarket flywheel, I guess some would want to just buy a stock flywheel and get back on the road. Me, however, I'm patient enough to wait for the flywheel (I haven't driven my car in over a month) to get an aftermarket flywheel.

Kyle, when are expecting the shipments of JUN flywheels? I am interested in purchasing one. Do you guys also install them? If so what is your labor cost?

Well, I researched the flywheels for a month before I decided which one to go with and the Jun one is too far out. I agree that I would rather have a chromoly flywheel, but the aluminum one is a stop gap move until I can get to a chromoly one. I've been out of my car far too long and just want to get back on the road with it.

Besides, another poster here has a Jun flywheel, but he said that the clutch wasn't engaging with the flywheel. Apparently Jun only built the flywheel to Japanese clutch specs. I don't know if he had gotten it corrected, but I'll be wary of the Jun flywheel for now.

We have a shipment leaving Japan on ~June 6th which means we should have them 7-10 days after that. We are already taking preorders since we are only getting a limited quantity.

The clutch problem turned out to be a install problem and nothing to do with the flywheel. The J-spec flywheel and the US flywheel are exactly the same.

Order an OS Giken Clutch Flywheel combo from SGP racing. Thats what I did, hopefully It will be here in a couple weeks!!!
