i knew it!!! anything for free is probably f*cked up. i mean why do all this knuckle busting work for 5hp that you cant even feel, when we can spend $300 on an intake for the extra 5.

i dought a intake would even give you 5 horse power. I have no faith in intakes i think there the biggest waste of money. Stock intake with a k&n drop in is good enough.

NO I didnt buy some lame kit b/c spending $15 on it is not smart. It costs a total of 5$ or less. If needed I'll do a DIY, its not something your gonna feel on an engine with alot of mods. But if your just starting off as i am I definetely noticed it. Its really easy too. I did it on my z and my friends 00' si and we both noticed it.

Another 'free' mod is to take the weather stripping out from the back of the engine bay (or hood spacers have the same affect). That way the air-flow can come up over the windshield from under the hood. A cooler engine is a happier engine... :-)

^ actually that creates a high pressure spot where the wind would leave the hood and hit the windshield, so the hot air doesn't leave the engine bay, but it messes with the stock designed underhood airflow and potentially can make underhood temps higher.
and on top of that, its less aerodynamic

I used a partial mixture of that 40 degree below stuff with water wetter and a little antifreeze. I dont believe in the iat mod because not all cars need extra fuel so the extra timing still might screw things up. Might try the throttle body bypass.
