K, this is whats going on. I have been experiencing a delay in take off. Everytime I touch the gas to pass or just accelerated my RPMs jump up about 10-15K, then the car takes off. The Nissan Service dept. here is saying I am needing a new clutch. I don't doubt that, but do you guys think it I could have a tranny problem also?

My car is an 05 with 56K miles. Its bone stock.

10-15K? that sounds like a lot of rpm gain.

From how you describe it I would guess that the clutch is slipping. It doesn't sound like you have any other transmission issue to go with it.

 

slipping clutch, time for a clutch kit.and i hope that was 1500 not 10,000. has to be, LOL

maybad typo, cool thanks seems as though most ppl agree that this is a slipping clutch problem. I was unsure as this is my first manual car.
