There are a few places you can get them. One spot would be www.mynismo.com

In Maryland there is a shop that does this on site. I took my car there and was done with in a hour.

Did some powershifting to get ready for this friday. Very impressed with the results.

First gear - No matter where you are in the RPM's you will roast the tires
Second gear - Very strong pull and the tires will break lose
Third - my favorite gear, also very strong pull
Forth - Keeps pulling and pulling

Now when i started in first and power shifted up till forth gear it went like this.

First gear, i just roast the tires.. Bang second more roasting... Run the gear out and spin going into third... pulls hard and chirps going in to forth.

That was the suprise for me.. I have never chirped that hard going into forth. Put a big grin on my face.

I will post up my logs from the track like i have done before. I need to see where i am in the powerband when shifting to each gear.

You must have a different tire setup than I do... First gear for me grips ok even if I punch it while rolling (275/40/18 Pirelli's in the back). Now if I powershift into 2nd... 2nd roasts for sure.

Are you on the stock viscous LSD? That may play a roll... my Nismo was a great improvement over stock.

I've tried launching in 1st from higher rpms and the tires struggle to grip even if I take it easy.

So you recommend the nismo LSD or any other aftermarket over the stock? I shouldve just bought a base Z....

Thumbs up Updated with all Gear info

I updated the Main thread with all of the other gears. Be sure to check it out.

Gives you a nice idea of what each set of gears will do with your car and setup.

Yes. The viscous sucks. I don't rip 2nd gear loose like I used to since I got the new tires... when I powershift 2nd I get some wheel spin if the road kind of sucks... but if the road is new and my tires are warm it hooks HARD and just jolts the car forward. With the stock viscous I spun the crap out of 2nd no matter what road I was on, even stock.

i have a question, does teh reflash also raise the revup rev limtier aswell. If so by how much . And are they any concerens with failure or more ware due to the spinning at a higher rpm.

Hey RBlover

Yes, the reflash does raise the Revup rev limiter. From what i remember it raises it to 7500-7600rpm.

With my engine ( 03 ) i have been reving it to 7200rpm for over 3 years now. No problems. I dont bang it off the limiter though.

damn i wonder why it only raised the revups so minimal since its designed moreso to rev higher then the reg de. And damn if your 03 can rev beyond that 6.5k all the way to 7200.

I guess the reality is that there is probably no power made beyond a certiain limit anyway. But it sure is nice to shift later. lol. I would expect my revup to be able to rev to 7.5k . Not that it will make power all the way to 7.5 k but just have the ability. lol

Very true, I dont make power to 7200rpm. But what makes it nice is.... Im that much further into the next gear when i rev it that high.

I need to do some logs to see where i land in the next gear.

Before the gears, i landed around 4800-5000rpm into the next gear.

I will let you know

I see everyone here pretty much gets Technosquare reflashes.

Have any of you ever thought of UpRev's Osiris product? You can choose the rev limit you want and flash the ECU yourself. You can also use another program (Cipher) that comes with Osiris to log A/F, timing and many other functions so that UpRev can create a better map specifically for your car. I have it, it's pretty cool... switch between 5 maps with your cruise control... plus no need to mail your ECU in for flashing.

I bet $20 your running a 26" slick which will cause you to shift to 5th and in turn kill any advantage you've created by stronger acceleration. Key to this being beneficial is staying in 4th! Swap the slicks before the track day man...

With the reflash.... What happens to power levels? (i'm trying to visualize a graph) It completely tapers off at 6600 still?

I'm thinking about raising my rev limit to 8k...and trying to decide if its worth it. Will prob go with the 4.083 too.

Here's my planned set up (for drag and road racing use):

1. Quaife LSD
2. 4.083 gears
3. 285/35/18 tires in rear
4. Nismo sways
5. Tein S-Tech springs
6. GT Spec braces
7. Reflash to 8k
8. Fi Exhaust / Test pipes (or turbo xs)

You would be revving to 7500rpm's stock, compared to Todd's 7200rpms, even a small increase to 7800rpm's for you would keep you in 4th gear with no issues. With Todd, its a diff thing cuz he is already pushing past his peak HR's make way better power up top....

Thanks Alberto... 8k would keep me in 4th too right? also, how do you determine this?

If you just did the gears swap and left the rev limiter alone you could stay in 4th until 112 mph. Unless you're boosted, I don't think you're going to trap any higher than that.
