I thought the first to get the led tails and different front bumper/grill was the '06.

your exactly right, thats preety much the sweet spot for the revup. On a highway a revup should pull on a 287 just out of sheer hp uptop. The revups plenums are designed for peak hp . At a loss of tq. The runners and the new 30% change in internals are all really aimed at a more refined DE setup for more peak hp and when road racing the ability to rev more to stay in ur power band more so.

287<300<306 < 330

De/RevUp/HR/3.7L

Thats how it will be power wise with NA where the changes matter most

If you have plans of boost, buy a cheap DE motor'd Z so you can throw in a built block, boost the crap out of it and save yourself a wad of cash over a newer Z

For the majority of bolt-on owner Z's ---- the above < chart is my opinion on Z choice...I am stuck with a RevUp....

So first of all...do I really want the rev-up engine with 300hp over the older 287hp engine?

If so...can someone please tell me which years/models of the Z will have this rev up engine?

Thanks,

Welcome!

As mentioned above, not all '05's are rev-ups, only the 35th anny and Track Models came with the 7k redline.

Non Rev-Up Engine
'03-'05

Rev-up Engine
'05 (35th anny + Track Model) - '06 6MT

VQ356HR- 7500 redline
'07-

Check out our regional forums, we have meetups almost weekly. Make your way to one of our meetups and I am sure all your questions could be answered in person.
