Default 80 mph+ whine?

when i get to about 80MPH and above.. my engine starts to wine.. sounds like a super charger, it's pretty badass.. but not quite as loud.. im wondering what it could be.. i have exhaust intake test pipes plenum mrev... wondering if it's the mods.. i can't remember if it did it before the mods..

Its probably your transmission whining rather than the engine.

Some noise is normal but when gears don't mesh properly they whine/howl excessively. Lack of fluid can make them howl excessively too.

I'd get it checked if it wasn't like that before, maybe even change the fluid if its due. Probably wouldn't hurt to change the fluid in the differential while you're under the car.

Where is the whine sound coming from?? Front end/Rear? Does it get louder as you speed up?

Mine does that as well. There are many owners who have had the same thing.

mine doesn't sound like it's coming from the rear though. actually after installing the popcharger and nismo exhaust i don't hear it anymore. i think it was the stock intake? or maybe the popcharger's sound coupled with the exhaust's just covers up the whining.
a LOT of other owners have noted the same whining sound so i don't really worry about it anymore.

I was noticing the same problem when going over 80 mph, I stopped, pulled over, got out, opened the engine bay let out the little animal and everything is fine now.

Mine did it when I first got it, but I havent noticed it lately. I originally thought it was due to the cold weather....who knows.

I've heard it too but headers + test pipes tend to drown it out.

Same problem here. Replacing parts and changing fluids doesn't seem to solve the problem. Does anyone have a fix for this or do we have to just live with it?

i dont think anything is actually wrong, that necessitates a "fix" though.
