Default Transmission questions on 2007

Hi guys, I apologize in advance if this has already been addressed. I just picked up my 07 touring the other day. This is my first performance vehicle (before I had an 07 corolla). Sometimes when I hit the gas I get a huge thump in the back. Is this a normal thing from the drivetrain? Also... 1st gear makes this constant metal grinding noise when driving in it. And my last concern is the very rough and unsmooth thumps I get when I downshift (which I'm prettyc onservative about). Thanks in advance!!!!!

6MT btw...

Default bump

Same here...

Also when I depress the clutch I also hear a noise, as well as the grinding when upshifting.

Grinding doesn't sound like it would be normal to me. I would take it back to the dealership and hopefully replicate the same problem with a tech.

Something similar happens to me. When I start it up in the morning, and let go of the clutch, i hear a grinding like sound.
Any clue?
I'm hoping it's just because it's cold. I've had manuals all my life, and this is the first time something like this happens (unless it's an old car).
Maybe i'll take it to the dealer this week.

Mines is okay no noises yet hot or cold and I have 495miles.If I was you I would take it to the dealer.Because if this is an issue then it's bound to happen to me.So take it in.Maybe the tranny is defective.

What you are hearing is a noisy throw out bearing. It seems to be a normal thing on the 07 tranny's. Mine started doing it the day I brought it home.

Default trans grinding

Took my 06 Track, 6000 miles, to the dealer. Tech said the trans was made w/ more straight cut gears, thus more noise. Not sure I believe him, another dealer had not heard that one. After all my John Deere tractor is filled w/ straight cut gears and doesn't make a sound.
