no offense, but the spark is going between the tip of the electrode and the end of the strap. rotating the plug isn't going to change anything.

try it and tell me if it's the smoothest your car has ever idled.cost of an index kit is nill so you really have nothing to lose.the same effect at idle carrys through the whole rpm range,but idle proves its worth optimizing electrode position.dyno gains...minimal,probably not enough to register.if you obsess about details then you will never sleep well again knowing that your plugs point the wrong way!

one must be incrediby embarassed to have actually bought an indexing kit. just using common sense you can index the plugs in like 5 mins

very cool vid! Quite amazing actually (to me) that they can shoot in the actual combustion chamber and slow it down so much.

As for indexing - its not a 5 min job with just a set of plugs... if you trq it properly its not always going to be facing the right way (for indexing)... it would be hit & miss. I guess if you buy enough plugs eventually you'll get a set that are threaded to were it points towards the intake valve with proper amount of trq - time consuming to say the least.

How does an "indexing kit" work?
