Got a funny noise when tranny is cold...
The noise only happens in 4th gear when I give it over 50% throttle. It sounds a little like straight cut gears and bad bearings. The noise goes away almost as the engine warms up. The tranny shifts perfect and never feels strange in anyway. I've just noticed with as the weather has dropped into the 40's and 50's. It never did this before. I "THINK" it's comming from there since it only happens in 4th gear. Anything to be concerned about? I see alot of people replacing trannies and I hope I don't have to. Which leads me to my next question...
I bought my 03 track model used in good condition. Is it possible still to buy a warranty even if I wasn't the original owner? The car is perfect and I want to keep it that way. I've seen posts about taking the car in for a oil level test and getting a new engine (mine eats a little oil) because it's under warranty. Mainly I'm concerned about this noise I keep hearing in the tranny.
THanks guys
