LOL, while I'm dreaming of a new LS3 to work on in the engine bay, I might as well dream of the corvette's rear mounted transaxle being squeezed out back in the Z. Perfect weight balance and sweet NA V8 power. That would be sweet.

I read a good article on GM Performance about the new LS3. The heads are very nice and really re-worked over the older LS6/LS2 heads. A good number of other changes as well. Looks to be a nice evolution of the LS engine series, good engine for a swap to be sure. Brand new, though. No junkyard specials on this one for a while.

Because I don't want to be associated with the "gold chain" crowd, LOL.

I don't plan on doing either, I rather prefer the VQ and would like to see Kwame's build push the NA envelope. I dig this LS swap, however, and the thought of a rear mounted transaxle to help offset the front weight gain would be quite a build and something to see.

well everybody the last finishing touches should be done by tomorrow. As soon as i get my car back i will take some nice rolling videos as well as post my overall review of the swap.

I can only assume that the only thing I will miss the sound of an SSQV.

Based on pricing I believe the labor (including parts) should be around $8k if hinson does the swap in house. Tack on the price of the motor and transmission you choose (from $2000-$skys the limit) and that should be what you expect to pay. Just remember that an LS2 with heads, cams and exhaust can achieve 550rwhp....N/A.

Can't wait Noah and I bet you are going to be glad to get to drive her. So I assume you have her up in NY now.

$15k sould be about right for an LS2 and T56. Obviously you can add heads and cams at the time of install or later on and that would effectively change the pricing. I still think a 500rwhp N/A build on pump gas is the way to go in terms of reliability (altho the car might sound close to stalling at idle )

The car is still at Hinson where should be finializing the test fitting of the production 3" dual X-Pipe exhaust on the car. I expect to have the car this weekend. I have a lot of things to do before I show it at HIN DC regarding the interior and what not. The shop is aware of my deadlines so I can only hope they meet them.
