Default swapping in HR motor ?

Well I'm looking for a motor for my 03 z to build over time and then swap into the car without too much downtime. Looking into a stroker twin turbo setup.

Found a real good deal on a motor but it is a 05-06 rev-up motor. What is the difference as far as wiring, fitment, and mounting between the two motors? Is it worth the trouble or just keep looking for a non rev-up motor?

Tries searching but came up with nothing as far as the swaps are concerned. Any help will be appreciated.

there weren't any 05-06 HR motors!

The HR came out in 07 and was only available in the G35 Sedan and the 6mt 350Z.

don't forget the oil issue before you buy a motor.

A lot of the available rev up long blocks on the market may be dealer take outs due to excessive oil consumption. But, this is less of an issue since he plans on building the engine with a stroker kit.

The motor im looking at is a nissan warranty motor due to oil problems. I plan on rebuilding the whole thing anyways so im not really concerned with that like you stated. Just need to know if i will have issues swapping it in or not.

Thanks for all the input so far guys.

From what I understand all you would need is a REVUP ECU and engine harness because the CAN systems are the same. It wasnt until the HR's where all the cars computers were changed.

So all you realy need is ECU and engine harness.

If you are goint to stroke it will be more of a pain in the *** to swap to the revup. I'd say stick with the 03-05 VQ35DE you wont have to change any of your cars wiring harnesses.

All else fails man dump in a VK56DE. A built and tuned 5.6L V8 will get you ALOT of power. Toss in a plower or Turbo and you got some SICK power. That will take some $$$ though.
