1st Gear
Whatup. Not a big deal but i was just wondering if when u guys are about to slow down to come to a stop sign or something and u put ur foot on the clutch and put it in first before u stop (knowing ur not gonna release the clutch until u start to go again in 1st) its like hard to put it in like u have to give it a little push. but while im at a complete stop its just normal when i put it in to 1st. I dno if its just my car or u guys too? Im just guessing that it might be like a safety thing so when ur driving u dont accedently put it in 1st. Thanks

I would recommend treating 1st gear the same as reverse. I never engage it unless from a stop, as there isn't really a need to do otherwise. The reduced wear and tear by doing this is definitely worth it.

It's normal, what you said. Like ^, I never goto first even when Im about to come to a complete stop. I just put it in N and use the brake, and keep it at N until the green light comes on, then I shift to 1st. I never engage the clutch and leave gear at 1st at a full stoplight.

When coming up to a stop, rev-match into second to use engine braking if you want.
A good rule of thumb is to never downshift into first unless you are fully stopped. If you really need it to go up an incline in a parking garage, etc, try engaging first when you are going under 10mph.
When the tranny is working against your shifting pattern, it's trying to tell you something.
