i have a 03 ppw touring z(got in august)that sometimes when i shift into second gear from first it says "slip" on the dash. Ive never experienced it in another gear.

What is the cause for this?

thanks

Powa. And possibly lack of tread on tires.

You either aren't applying enough throttle or applying too much. Your tires are losing traction when you shift.

VDC is kicking on. Mine does that if I shift at or close to redline from 1st. If your driving that spirited, turn the VDC off, it just ruins the fun...stupid nanny!

I’m guessing, but you probably have your RPM limiter set to a lower value than your shift point front 1st to 2nd. If you run up the engine beyond the limiter before shifting, you can activate TCS (TCS is part of VDC in your car).

I thought the rpm setting was just to set the light when to flash. I don't have TCS so I could be wrong. I didn't think it was an actual limiter. I have mine set at 6k and have no problem going to 7.
