Clutch is starting to slip
I bought the car used and it had 18k+ miles on it. Now it was 23k+. Dealer quoted me 1800 for labor and installation. Screw that. What do you guys reccommend? I'm looking for something that will engage easier and last longer. I plan on keeping the car stock. I hate the postion of the throttle and brake. Can't heal and toe.
we use and recommend the ACT clutches and flywheels
the hold TONS of torque, are very easy to drive, the flywheels (comes in 2 different weights to suit your needs/wants) are the quietest we've used to date (JWT being among the loudest), and the flywheels are 1 piece billet chromoly as well

lol well have you heard the clutchmasters yet, since it is 3 peice once it warms up it is loud as hell at idle and low rpm's. sounds like the universal joints are going out.
Z1 Performance. How's the ACT weight compared to stock? I hear so many people complaing the stock clutch is heavy. Im use to REAL clutches and i find the clutch in the Z sissy.
Is the ACT lighter or stiffer?
Cheers

i like ACT clutches, but their flywheel's in the Z sound like cement mixers. Pretty much every aftermarket clutch kit will have a better quality than the stock set up and something that isn't as good. JWT is close the stock set up, ACT is a little more aggressive but still managable. If your a DD get the JWT.

The stock flywheel is a dual mass unit, and as such very heavy. The upside of this is there is 0 noise/rattle at takeoff. The downside is poor revability
Fitting an aftermarket flywheel frees up alot of rotational mass, and the engine becomes much more responsive. The tradeoff is increased noise between 1000 rpm and 2500 rpm. Again, every flywheel exhibits these noises, some worse than others.
