Check to see if the exhaust tips are touching the plastic on your bumper.

i have no experience with test pipes and the smell that i generated from not having catalytic converters, but that may be your situation. do you have catalytic converters or test pipes?

You bought a supercharged car used... if I were you I'd have it completely checked out and inspected at a reliable shop ASAP. Worth the trip down to GT Motorsports in Rancho Cucamonga in socal if Sacramento is indeed where you live.

I would NOT take chances with a used F/I car that smells like burning.

closer to sac there's Z Car Garage. However, I can't make a definitive comment about their quality of work either positive or negative
