because the car was not made to be a drag car, that is why the torque is not that "high" or close to HP numbers.

The VQ35DE has won awards on a world scale for the past 12 years as one of the best powerplants in prodution automobiles due to the smooth powerband and drivability. Guess the torque was not the prime consideration when the design of the engine was first conceived.

Does the acceleration of the Z car plant your tired a$$ in the seats in 1st gear??? Success

My 05' is 274/287. Pretty close in my book. The car feels smooth, and powerful too.

You could redesign the motor and drive train for more torque and less horsepower sure.

The VQ30's make significantly more torque than power.
