Default Rattling noise when turning off engine

When turning off the engine i can hear a rattling noise coming from the engine, is this normal? It's a 07 track and I've only had the car 4 weeks so any kinda of noise coming from the engine freaks me out.

Normal. Depress clutch while turning on the ignition like others said, problem solved.
This not only happens to dual-mass OEM clutch, but on single-mass aftermarket clutches as well.

Well the clutch is not "dual mass"... that would be the flywheel....

And the reason it happens to both is because it's not the flywheel.

It's normal and happens to a lot of manually equipped vehicles...

Pushing in the clutch before shutting down should just be a natural habit, if not, make it one.

I was sitting here racking my brain to recall, if I did or didnt and relized that it is such a natural habit I dont even think about it

Ever since I heard the rattling noise I aways hold my clutch as I turn the car off. Are you supposed to?

Personally, I would say so.....Turning off the ignition and letting the Crank,Cams,Valves,Pistons,Damper,Flywheel, come to a freewheeling stop makes more sense than adding to that, the Pressure Plate and Main Shaft Gear Cluster. Plus it would allow for a good Clutch Disk "center" in an unloaded state

Its just good Machine etiquette----A relaxed Machine is a Happy Machine

That makes sense to me. I'm glad I do that naturally then. I usually turn off my motor before I pull her out of 1st (sometimes even before I stop rolling). So yes, the clutch is depressed.

Glad to hear that the problem was solved for some. There are a great many little habits picked up through the years that become so engrained, you dont think of them until someone brings them up. Those habits were learned through experimentation------Very little is engraved in stone and learning through doing things the wrong way, and seeing the results is the best teacher of all
