Default Cams for boost

I searched first but no luck.... So here goes. Im looking for some cams that will work well in a boosted 3.5 motor. Somewhere in the are of 22psi.(built motor of course) Im wanting a mild cam if the car lopes a little no big deal. Anyone had any experinse with ebay knock off cams. I know the folks at maxima . org has had good luck with them but Im not sure if they will work for boost. Can someone point me in the right direction!

Check out some of the vendors on here, they carry cams for the non-revup Z, which is the same longblock as the FWD VQ35 from 2002-2004 Altimas and 2002-2003 Maximas. Turbo cams don't have as much duration as NA cams, which are known for their lope at idle. Basically you want a "turbo" cam, and they are usually listed that way. Just make sure the cam is made for the 2003-2005, non-revup Z's and it should fit.

I highly recommend staying away from any motor, Your talking about a built motor running 22psi, asking about egay cams. You said a 3.5 motor and have checked on "maxima . org" and cosidering your screen name, I believe you don't even own a Z? You'll probably call me a *****. But I had to call you out.

most people with a greddy tt kit stop at around 20 psi....turbos loose their efficiency and well u can be at almost 650-700rwhp...with headwork/cams/exhaust...etc.... or get a 20g upgrade and u can boost your 22psi u want...

Well your right I dont own a z Well i do own a 90 300zx But that dont reply to this thread. However I do have a 3.5 that im putting in my maxima with a Single turbo set up. I came here because I know we share the same motor and was trying to get some help on the cam choice. I know there are a lot of z owners modding as not many maxima ownerd have boosted 3.5 with cams. Dam shoot me for trying to get some help!

Z's & G's don't exactly share the "same" motor with an altima or maxima. They are close in some respects, but that's about it. Sorry.

The effective differences from a non-revup VQ35DE are the intake manifolds, exhaust manifolds and ECU. Superficial differences are the upper and lower oil pans, engine mounting locations and drive belt setup. The rest of the long block is the same.

OP: Are you running the 3.5 ECU or the 3.0 ECU and ignoring the VTCs?

Yeah im going to use the 3.0 ecu. No vtc for me! Im just wondering what cam will be good with a boosted 3.5 and may help top end as the maxima intake will stop making power after 5800rpms?
