Todays mods:Test pipes, lube
Spent the first couple of hours of my day today adding megan racing test pipes to the car. Bought on ebay for 107shipped. Install took 1 hour, and was easy as pie. Most difficult part was getting the old cats out of the car, tons of wiggling involved. The Megan's fit was perfect, welds looked great and they even came with o2 bungs that were 1' long as to not trip a cel. Changed the tranny fluid and diff fluid out with Motul lube bought from Sharif @ forged.
Impressions: Driving a few miles around town today, love the sound, and the car pulls harder through the mid-range. Every time I came to a red light they did smell pretty bad though. I will have to get the car jacked up again on Saturday to install a lightweight crank pulley and will tighten down the bolts and check them for any problems. Those old cats are soooo damn heavy, I cannot believe it. The other thing I noticed is how narrow the diameter of the headers is that dumps into the cats... ridiculous.
So far I would buy them again. Will update if any problems show up.
MUST NEED TOOLS: 2ft worth of extensions, two 14mm sockets, one regular depth, one deep well. And one of those nifty little swivel joints that attaches inbetween the socket and an extension and allows the socket to swivel in 360 degrees. A pair of vice grips to get the O2 sensors out, or an O2 socket will work as well (I didnt have one) Thats it!

I'm running the MeGan test pipes as well . . . love 'em . . . but still needed to install the CEL defoulers for the O2 Sensors . . . CEL illuminated after about 200 miles of driving on the test pipes.

Just installed my Crawford high-flow cats, and couldn't believe how restrictive the factory headers are. If the car wakes up with just high-flow cats or test pipes, imagine how much better it will be removing those junk factory headers/exhaust manifolds!
There are two versions of the Megan test pipes. One is with a flex and comes installed with the non-foulers, and the other older version is without the flex and no non-foulers. Make sure you get the ones with the flex to prevent cracking.
I have the same test pipes, the ones with the flex and I love them!

Here is the link of the auction on ebay. They are the ones with the flex and anti-foulers already installed. I have been driving for a week with no CEL and have easily tagged 200+ miles. They have been a great buy and the car sounds mean as all get out.
Now you should contact the seller on ebay to ensure he sends you the ones with flex and anti-foulers, pics are not the same as what I received...Thank God.

I have an 03 that I put the Edge Racing resonated test pipes on. Sounded great with the OEM exhaust. Once I put the Tenabe Medallion Touring on the sound was out of control. Had to put the cats back on to keep from knocking out the neighbors windows.
