**Borla Installed with DYNO!!!!!***
The moment you all have been waiting for. I went to Borla today in Oxnard and had my Dual Exhaust professionally installed for the feature article in Nopi Street Performance Compact Magazine. My day started off with a tour of the magnificant Borla facility. What an operation! I have been in the aftermarket ad sales business for over 5 years now and have yet to see anything that comes close to the quality and craftsmanship that goes in to each and everyone of BORLA's exhausts/headers systems. I'm very glad I waited and installed their exhaust instead of Stillens. They had some dyno examples there, in which they tested several exhausts on the z, includying the stillen. The Borla Dual Exhaust out performed ALL of Them. I saw the print up my self. Unfortunately they would not let it leave the facility. Now the important stuff! The exhaust sounds and performs much better than what i had anticipated. It has a significantly deeper sound than stock. There is a definate increase in power, mostly in the low end. In my unprofessional oppinion, it sounds best under heavy load and/or in 5th gear cruzing at 60mph at 2000rpm! What a growl it has!! I'll post the dyno results tomorrow when they are emailed to me, don't have a scanner. We did 2 runs in 3rd gear. Keep in mind my car only has 1,500 miles on it. They installed one last week on a z with 14,000 mi and it gained 7 more hp than mine. The only mods i have are an AEM intake and a Ground kit so far. The average of the before run was 208hp. After install, we did the same 2 runs in 3rd, RESULTS
were first run 222 second run 224. An average of 15hp gained at the wheels. I'll post the dyno sheet tomorrow. My only advice, go get this exhaust. It has the best performance out there along with an unbeatable price! Another note, the stock exhaust is one heavy pig! The borla exhaust weighs almost 15lbs less than stock and looks much much better/cleaner.
Thank you David Borla for making such a wonderful product! Now all i have to do is get him to buy an ad!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

As you should know every dyno is different....Not sure why it was so low. Maybe the dyno was screwed up. I smoked a boxter s last weekend by nearly 3 car lengths up to 115mph. What a crappy automatic!!? It was in 3rd. REmember only 1,500 miles on this motor. A more worked in engine will give higher #'s

So I think I'm starting to get it, when brola claims twentysomething plus horsepower that's not at the wheels they must be calculating it backwards to the crank I presume
Did they mention anything about the aerodynamic disadvantage at the rear undercarriage, air catching on the back bumper panel because of the smaller muffler?

I don't think this is quite the moment I was waiting for...but thanks for the effort. 1. Those numbers are very low, and seem odd. 2. You are going to have them mail you the runs? How do you know they will mail you your runs? I hope they have a time stamp on them. How do you know they won't be altered? 3. Why on earth would you use 3rd gear, and not 5th?
I'm not saying there is any funny business going on with borla, etc., but that's not exactly an unbiased scientific method you're using for results. I'd have to say...we're still waiting for the results a lot of us really want.
I'm not trying to diminish your effort really...just a lot of questions about the method. Thanks.

I think a lot of you are missing some key points here. First off the dyno was done in 3rd gear. Secondly the car only has 1500 miles and 3rd it is an auto. So this would account for the low baseline. To me dyno number don't mean anything other than something to work from. And in this particular dyno the guy gained 16whp. That is a very nice gain from an exhaust. Pretty close to 20whp claimed by Borla.
Just for clarification if your baseline on a different dyno was 235 then you would get 251whp after the Borla was put on.
I'm sold on this Exhaust!!

Finally some intelligent responses. The piping was 2.5 i believe. They can use smaller pipes since there are 2. The sound is great, that was my biggest consern over gains. I loved the sound stock and only wanted slightly louder and deeper. I got more than I wanted, great sounding not too loud, just right and very dep and throaty. I'm very happy with a 16hp gain. I too was shocked by the low initial dyno numbers. I don't know how accurate they really are, all i know is it got 16hp from a great exhaust system. I love this car even more now!! Borla is the way to go!! Guaranteed!

and here I was thinking that there would be a dyno graph posted here.
I still think it is really strange/funny that all these dynos have been run, but no one has a graph to put on the posts. Is there a curse on Borla??
Is there anyone in LI, NY that has this exhaust that I can take a listen to?? I really want it, but I don't want to be much louder than the stock exhaust is. My Fiancee drives this car from time to time and she wouldn't be happy with a loud $35K car.
