Solenoids usually come as an assembly and are replaced as an assembly.

May be valve body problem and not just sensor or just a solenoid connection [harness] as you have the older AT version with an external TCU.

Did you not perform periodic ATF replacement? Varnish from ATF breakdown due to heat?
What about extended power train warranty did you not purchase?

Various on line dealers sell Nissan Parts at a 20-25% discount.

Vehicle was serviced according to the service intervals in the book (at the dealer)... fluid was also drained and refilled immediately after it acted up the first time, but the car keeps shifting hard, throwing code P1767 and getting stuck in 4th gear as a failsafe... since this code refers to that solenoid i figured i could replace it since it was taken to nissan and they said they couldnt duplicate the issue and everything was operating properly

THe question is whether the solenoid per se is bad or whether the valve the solenoid controls is bad or the electrical circuit driving the solenoid has problems.

Your FSM will describe various tests to help pinpoint the exact problem.

#1767 is the high/low reverse clutch solenoid valve

#1769 is the high/low reverse clutch solenoid valve function

i dont know what to do, the dealership says everything is working properly, obviously it isnt so i feel like i have my back against the wall, maybe ill just buy a whole new valve body and be done with it (if that would even correct my problem) obviously something is wrong though or it wouldnt keep spitting the code out

I'm curious as to what the dealership says is the reason for getting the code. Have they given you an explanation? The cars don't throw a code for no reason, unless you're FI of course.

Are you going to get an upgraded VB or just an OEM one?
