Directions for engine flush:

Go to your local parts store.
buy 1 can of Sea Foam, approximately $7.99
Add said can of Sea Foam to your crank case.
Idle car for 10 minutes.
Change oil.

I've been doing this for years to my Expedition 97K, and my Ranger 150K without ever having any issues. I usually do this every other oil change.
I have'nt done this to my Z yet due to the fact that I dont have enough miles on it .

it shouldnt matter if its an optional/recommended service.....if an individual takes good care of his/her car then it shouldnt matter....eazzy nailed it on the head in every post he put up in this thread....im in the business as well(all be it in the military non the less) but it boils down to whether or not a person( dealer tech) has the integrity to do the right thing.....just another example of how greed takes over a persons mind to screw someone else over

It's kind of a moot point. It is subjective to each person as an individual what taking care of his/her car means.

You either do it or you don't.

As far as integrity to do the right thing, I don't think a dealer would be doing the right if they didn't at least make it known the service was available.

Yep... True story here:

My friend has been married about a year now and they recently found out they've got a kid on the way. So, one day while working on the car with Dave (the friend) his wife comes out and casually mentions that she needs a bigger vehicle so there is room for the kid. To some, this doesn't sound unreasonable, but she drives a Ford Escape. That's huge already for only 1 kid...

I guess she'll have to upgrade from the Explorer to this for the second kid...

we do not offer nitrogen fill at our shop, but some of the other dealers in the
orlando area do, i sort of see the benefit with the fact the tires do not
fluctuate pressure as much compared to standard air(but standard air
is already 78% nitrogen)so if a consumer is lazy and does not want to
check air pressure between oil changes it could help, i just make a habit
of checking mine every other wash job of my car(every other week)
i figure i am right there at the tires and they have had time to cool off
from the last time the car was driven

by the way, i am not one of those advisors who makes a buck by
scare tactics, i earn a relationship with my clients, get to know
them and the needs of thier vehicle, and handle them in a
professional and courteous manner each time. if they don't buy
this time i don't sweat it, i just show them or explain the concerns
with the car and let them decide, i have enough repeat business
and word of mouth i do not need to rip peope off

Needless to say, no one is insinuating you are. But the fact stands, that it is done and done a lot.

Stereotyping is a common Rant, but the fact also stands that stereotyping comes from SOMEWHERE, It doesn't just materialize out of nowhere. As with all stereotyping, the best way to fight it is from within. Go after those within that are perpetrating it. I try to do my part, as you claim you do, by being straight with my people and educating them to the enemy that lurks.

I feel a little flushed....I think I will fix a drink
