First, the fit on this muffler is horrible. Part of the muffler is sitting on the lower brace of the car. This, I think, is the reason why I have an uneven "rumble" at 1800 rpm and 3500 rpm. I have to create a home-made bracket to raise the muffler up an 1" to clear the lower brace. I then attached it to what I think is a stabilizer bar.
Second, the sound does sound deeper and louder than stock. But, I think that the stock muffler sound is more "exotic". Just my .02 cents.
Third, the hat is ugly.
Fourth, they only gave me one sticker.
The only good thing about this muffler is the price, and the extra power it makes. Next week, I am dynoing the car after about 500 miles with the borla exhaust. Hopefully the ECU theory, doesn't apply to my car.

Sure all the parts you got were the correct ones? A few of the very first deliveries had some wrong pipes. All comments from fellow owners so far have been positive about the fit. Maybe you're not lined up right. Shouldn't have to make any brackets or holders.

The first piece (left side) that connects to the cats is the one that gave me problems. After installing that, the second piece sits on the lower brace. My bracket is pulling on the second piece up towards the stabilizer bar.
Should there be a difference between the left and the right side first pieces? I don't remember anymore how they look like, but if there is none, then for sure I have all the correct pieces.

Here's a link to how the setup should look:

Don't know if any of this will help. I won't be getting mine for a couple of weeks so all I've got are pics of other installs.
From the pics I can't see any difference between the two CAT connector pipes but there may be a slight bend difference between left and right side.

YES! You are.
j/k
Installation is CRITICAL on something like this my man. The work will vary by shop or individual. But the OVERALL look and sound is "Off the METERS!" IMO.
i guess that the "exotic sound" is a subjective thing. most exotics have huge engines in at least v10 or v12 configs.; which imo produces a lower, deeper, and louder sound (which is exactly what you are experiencing). also, as you can see in the pics the right side tubing shouldnt rest on the sway bar, and when installed properly should have plenty of clearance. if you did the install yourself, make sure that you rotated the pipe at such an angle that it provides that clearance while maintaining a proper pipe fitting. i hope you were joking about the hat and sticker; cause obviously you were buying an exhaust system, not hats and stickers. i thought it was really cool that borla gave me anything extra than what i paid for; cause most companies dont.

I felt the same way as you when I first got mine.
I'd see if you can adjust your install. I had mine installed by a professional at a local performance shop. He said the Borla was one of the best, if not the best, kit he had ever installed. Said the fit was perfect and the install was very clean and easy. Biggest problem was adjusting the pipes at the back so the Borla tips do not stick out so far.
And I'll second what joust75 says above... the exhaust not definitely has changed for the better as the Borla has broken in (not that I thought there was anything wrong with it to start with!

Well, I called Borla's customer service, and just like that they are sending me new front pieces to see if it fits better.
Excellent customer service from !!!!!!!BORLA!!!!!!!
and yes, I was joking about the hat and the sticker.

Borla is the Nordstrom of the performance exhaust world. They simply have the best customer service. Coupled with a terrific product. I intend to be a lifetime customer of theirs.

I just installed Borla Dual Exhasut today.
Should the every pieces on left and right be different?
There are difference between only part 3 and 4, part 6 and 5, part 8 and 7.
And Part 1 and 2 are identical.
Do I have the right part?
And it is hard to figure out which one is the part 5 and part 6.
It is hard to identify by just looking at the intallation sheet.
I also hear the rumbling noise from rear left-side. Is this Normal?

Are people mistaking "exotic" (as in Ferarri and Lambo) with American V8s???
exotics don't sound "DEEP" (a tester for a mag once said that the S2000 sounds like a 360 at 1/2 volume, since when does the S2000 sound "deep"???)
would i b correct in sayin that one should push everything tight towards the front in order for a good fit and also so the tips don't stick out too much? i'm just tryin to hear as much as possible before i attempt to install. thanks.
