I Painted The Valve Covers Red, And The Lower Manifold Cover Black, And Polished The Timing Cover, And Finally Hide That Ugly Wire Harness. (notice It's Under The Lower Intake Manifold) It Took Some Nervous Splicing But It All Worked Out. What Do U Guys Think?

 

Looks clean. Almost like a Chevy 350 fresh out of the crate. Definitely adds a different look to the bay than what you normally see.

thanks it took like 10-15 hours total but in a three day span, mainly because of the polishing and trying to splice the wire harness and not f@#k something up. man was i nervous, but well worth it in the end

 

Looks good, really clean. I've always wanted to paint my cam covers, it makes the engine seem more exotic.

thanks for the compliments everyone. the catch can was a cheap ebay one that leaked and is cheap, but i got because it can be opened from the top and bottom unlike many so i could make my own baffle inside which i did and then sealed it with high temp silicone and now it leak free.

the wire harness is a b1&ch but not nearly as bad as installing my headers or anything. just made me nervous know that if i screwed it up it could lead to the evil stealership or someone trying to clean up my electrical mess. but it all went ok.

first u have to remove upper and lower intake manifolds
then cut all the clips that hold the wire harness down
then remove all the metal plates thats the harness was connected to
then disconnect all the coil pack harnesses
then disconnect the alternator harness
then disconnect the vtc harness
then disconnect the ac compressor harness
and the mass air flow harness
and any other stuff that gets in the way
then u have to cut the harness open and split it 6" to 12" along the side in areas that u need the wires to be longer. (u don't have to cut and splice this way u just open the harness basically and pull what u need) there plenty of slake in the harness it just wrapped so tight it appears to be shorter wires then they are. so all it is, is open the harness in various sections and gently
pull what u need. MUCH EASIER SAID THEN DONE THO.
i also had to move and cut/break open the plastic cover that holds the entire wiring harness on the pass side in the back
then bend it up and toward the center of the intake manifold area.
then u lay the harness on top and around the fuel rails and basically put the intake manifold lower and upper back on and its sandwiched in between the lower manifold and the fuel rail area.
just be sure thats not wires pinched and exposed and re wrap any that are and that pretty much it see ya in 5-7 hours lol

The coil packs are re-wired and the leads go under the plenum as well???
