Default 07 engine to be replaced, will it be as reliable?

My 07 was in the body shop and they never repalced my leaking radiator( due to road damage). I was driving home from the shop and the motor locked up, I only have 7200 miles on it. Should I accept them putting on new engine in or tell them I want a new car, because thats what I purchased. Not a car with a replacement engine.

make them fix your engine with new oem parts, you will basically have a new motor.

but he will run the risk of them f'ing it up and have problems more than if he had a brand new car which he basically has. Less than 10K miles and F'ed engine FTMFL

I would tow the car to the deller, and have the body shop pay for it. Its just an R&R Job so there isnt much that the dealer will mess up, besides for a job like that, most likely they will have their master Tech do the work, if the shop owner refused, simply tell him okay you will hear from my lawyer, and thats it. Trust me, ive had a similar situation as soon as i said okay you will hear from my lawyer, it was a done deal. Good luck to ya

Did you see that the radiator was leaking? It takes one hell of a leak to empty completely. Is this a Nissan dealer? A new motor, if they give you one, will be fine.

you dont need a empty system to overheat the motor. If there is air in the system due to misproper flush/fill, it can cause overheating.

Looks like I'll be getting the new engine. The bodyshop wanted to do the work but I refused that and got the dealership to pick it up. Now I'm waiting for the insurance adjuster to check out the motor. Most of it is in good shape, so I hope they dont try to repair it. I think its only one piston thats bad.
