Default Anyone Using a ScanGuageII in their Z?

I recently purchased a ScanGuageII to use in my car. It plugs directly into the OBDII port and provides all kinds of information about the car. It basically serves three main functions. 1)Trip Computer, 2) Digital Guages and 3) Scan Tool.

I am looking to see if program codes are available for the Z to program in specific functions like fuel trims. I have it programed for my C6 Corvette so it will read both long and short term fuel trims for one bank. It will also read water temp, intake temp, horsepower, voltage, rpms, speed and many other functions. Bascially under the guage function you can display four functions on the guage at one time.

You can also use the ScanGuageII to read and reset codes and to tell you by scanning when the vehicle is "Ready" for emissions inspection.

Here is a link to the ScanGuage site. http://www.scangauge.com/

I take it from your post that you haven't used the ScanGuague on the Z or at least not found any specific function codes to program into other than what comes on it.

I have now got mine programmed to read long and short term fuel trims too. Since it will read four functions at once I usually leave mine set on the two fuel trims as well as coolant temp and intake temp.

That's not entirely true. You can custom program several functions like fuel trims and horsepower. It also has many other functions that standard car guages don't provide. I do agree with you that coolant temp and intake temp are two of the most useful functions. Especially since the 350Z's coolant temp gauge only really has three settings. It's basically useless.

I did the horse power xgauge but didnt think about the fuel trim how would that be beneficial? From what know fuel trim is the duty cycles of the injectors?

Fuel trim information is useful if you have a tune or mods to your engine. Basically you can tell from the fuel trims whether the car is running rich or lean and when it is doing so. Short term fuel trims are the most helpful because they show how the car is running at any given time. Generally you want the fuel trims to be 0 to -2, but they do vary somewhat. Long term fuel trims show you how the car is running over a longer period of time.

No I use it on other vehicles too. It's not a tuning product though, only a guage, trip computer and code reader.
