Ok to start off, I only found a topic about someone's brother having done this by accident for a month. My case is totally different so here is my question:
I work for the U.S. government and will be living in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba for 1 year. I will be taking my car but they ONLY have 89 octane in the island. I assume this would have horriffic effects to my car if I use 89 for an entire year. But if I use fuel additives (ocatane boosters) everytime I fuel up, will that be ok? Thanks for your help.

you arent going to hurt your car if youre not boosted. you will likely get a little pinging if your car is prone to that, but the knock sensor will pull timing and you will be fine. worst case scenario is that you wont make as much power as before
