Default Attaching Gas feed for vortech

guys I have a question I am installing my vortech the entire thing is done except the gas line, I got the stock one off and I can not get the vortech one on the green cap keeps jamming up. Do you leave it on the fuel line and then plug the vortech one into it?? or do you install it into the vortech line and plug it on? this is really beginning to **** me off and I don't want to break anything
