Every penny worth it! Hasn't given me any problems, car runs fine -- gas mileage is just about the same honestly. Negligible at best.

For anyone still having doubts....I say do it. I've been surprising HR-Z's, it's quite funny to see them get caught off guard
Good to hear that you are still very satisfied with them. I am still on the fence on getting these since I don't track my car at all. My Z is just a daily driver.

My G is also a DD. It makes driving that much more fun.

I say go for it bro.

Id like to run into you

I agree with everything you said. At the same Time I did a Nismo LSD. SPL solid mount and whiteline mount inserts. Single best combo done to my car over everything else.

Great to hear you still love the gears. Its funny I posted about wanting to get these and still have not done it! Now I am sure that this will be my next mod for sure. I thought about a tune, flywheel/clutch, but really everything is running so well I think gears will be the best bang for the buck.

So dumb question but after reading through a few of these threads I still am lost on if it makes your 0-60 time faster? I understand you have to row throw gears faster therefore most likely decreasing your speed but I am still curious. I know 0-60 means absolutely nothing, but I am just curious.

The milege should be less than the stock, right? Because when you go 80mph w/ 3000RPM on stock, you'll be at higher RPM on same speed with the 4.08 gear.

Correct. The RPMS will be higher. Negligible MPG.

it is a popular mod for NA. I have no complaints. I use a Nismo finned diff cover, Quaife LSD and Amsoil diff fluid. Not a peep from my rear!

I need to install a solid diff bushing next. I luv the increased pull. I didn't notice much of a decrease in mpg. Its like anything else, if you beat it/rev the **** out of it, your going to have sh*tty gas mileage. I have taken some road trips with my car and in 6th gear the Rev's @ 80 mph the exhaust tone is comfortable.

If I were to install a GTM supercharger I would leave the 4.083 gears in the car for sh*ts and giggles. See if I like it or not. If not I can have my stock gears installed.

Bump for an old thread but had a questions, I have an 08 HR and was thinking about getting gears for my next mod but little hesitant. First, I will be doing a mix between drag and auto X events but won't be a lot during the year. Read the overheating issue, just curious if this was a one time issue that was fixed with a better install and fluid or should I also purchase the diff cooler, I would buy the finned cover regardless but not sure if it is necessary for the cooler. Last question, I have the stock VLSD, would you guys recommend to upgrade or will the gears be fine for my occasional track use. Sorry for the questions.
