Borla True Duel Power Gains?
I'm thinking of getting the Borla true duel exhaust that everyone on this form seems to like. Ive read most of the threads on it and have only heard good things. My problem is that I can't find anything conclusive on HP. Some people say they can notice "some improvement" but others are saying they've dyno'ed gains of over 20 HP. If thing thing adds a full 20+ HP at the wheels then it should be more noticable then just "some improvement." So my question is, How much HP does this thing really add? Also, does that power last or does the ECU slow it down after a while?

I have no idea about the ECU but there are a couple things out to fix the ecu problem.
I'm surprised you couldn't find the dyno sheets on the borla. The average (but, by no means, the consensus) was about 10 whp gain. If you do a search you will find the dyno sheets eventually.

I did find a couple dyno sheets, and also people who didn't have sheets but shared their results. My problem was that they weren't all the same. I'm not talking about a small difference, over 10HP! Webcarconnection said he had gains of 23 HP but throbbing_Zon had a sheet with only a 10.6 HP gain. So I'm confused as to how it can vary so much from car to car. I wanna know what the real story is. I agree though, the average seems to be about 10. Anyone else have any information or thoughts?

Theres a deffinate but dyno difference. This exhaust just feels much better...the combination of the sound, better down low pull, and (somehow) improved smoothness justify the low price for me. Get it, think youl be pleasantly suprised.

The problem is with how dynos are done and the Z ECU. You can have the same Z, with the same mods, dyno on the same dyno, on the same day and get a difference of +/- 7whp between runs(know that from experience). Thats why dynoing for something that is only expected to give you 10whp is hard unless you have a controlled environment.

...same car, tank of gas, week, ambient temperature, dyno, dyno operator...and sadly same horsepower and torque (actually a hair less HP and Torque after the install) for me.
Baseline 243.0 HP and 230.9 Torque
+ Borla 241.3 HP and 230.7 Torque
Oh, and at no point on the curve is the Borla above the baseline; plus the biggest "Baseline-over-Borla" gap on the graph is actually in the low range.
Ah well, it does sound a LOT better now. I'll have to recalibrate my butt dyno though, I could've sworn I had another 10 h.p.

Exhaust with no other intake mod will always give you about the same numbers. I take it your like me waiting for a TT kit so that is why you haven't invested in a CAI.

EXACTLY why I haven't got the CAI yet!
Probably go with the ProCharger by the New Year, but I'd rather wait and see what else is available by then.
...The Power Enterprises TT looks MINT!

I love the sound and the looks. As for the perforance I never had it dyno'd but I really didn't notice any "Butt Dyno" difference. I really wanted to feel it but I didn't. But I have no regrets of getting it.

I own a dyno, dynoed my Z before and after Borla true dual exhaust, on the same night. I installed the exhaust on the dyno lift. My Z gained about 3hp across the board and 3 ft lb, pretty weak difference if you ask me and i definatly could not feel a difference.

Hate to sound like a broken record, but if you want meaningful gains that you can feel and see on the 1/4 mile..... most (I said most) n/a mods aren't getting you there....the Z comes from the factory VERY well tuned..... unless you go FI... Many people have tweaked at the cost of $8,000 only to get 30 rwhp. Gotta blow or turbo if you wanna go
