ENEOS 0w50 Nissan 350Z Test
PowerTv does a test on ENEOS Fully Synthetic 0w50 oil.

That really doesn't tell us much , there are much better tests to tell the quality of oil.

I've always been curious about this stuff, since the shop that's like 2 miles from my house has been selling it for a while. I guess they are basically the only place in this state to buy it too. I only know one guy using it, and he loves it, but obviously he hasn't done any official testing with it. Who knows, maybe I'll try it one day.

A few oil samples of this oil are currently at blackstone and I will have UOAs back shortly that will back up the ones that I currently have. I will post the UOA for 3 consecutive oil changes at 5k mile intervals. Also have 2 consecutive oil changes of the 0w20 at 15k miles intervals coming back.
You guys will be as impressed with these as I was with the first set of results I got.

I have tried three types of Oil on my Z: Mobil 1, Royal Purple and Eneos.
I would rate Eneos the best (by far) out of the three with Royal Purple being the worst.
No noticeable difference in power but I do check my oil on a regular basis and after almost 3k the oil looks nice / clean with no consumption issues what so ever.
At this point the Royal Purple would have appeared black/burnt and with the Mobil 1 I would be adding more oil since I noticed some consumption issues with it.
Only downside to this product is the price, I paid almost $90 for my last oil change

I'll leave Mobil 1 out of this because I do not see how their quality of oil can even come close to comparing to any leading fully synthetic oils. Have not seen any test or anything from my personal experiance to prove me wrong.

Not sure how such a thick 50w oil is going to net you any hp. But that would explain the reduction in oil consumption. IMHO, it's the thick oil, not the fact that's XX brand. A normal dino 50w would probably do this also.
Also making an oil act like a 0w when cold and then a 50W when warm is DIFFICULT to do. It requires ALOT of additives. Additives that will break down faster. So at the end of it's life you have an oil that's probably acting more like a 50w all the time.

The UOAs will be up in the next few days that show this oil barely shows any breakdown at 5k miles. Im waiting to get two more in to see some consistency. I also have a 0w20 being sent out next week that is at 20k interval so well see what that looks like. Car still gets a consistent 4mpg better even at 20k then synthetic 5w30.
Im going to be running the 0w20 in my car next and seeing what results I get with this.
So far ENEOS definitly gets my thumbs up. And I do agree the added HP isnt important at all and its definitly not what got me using the oil.

I ran the Eneos 5w-40 in my twin turbo Z and this is the only oil I have ever had burn off. I was down 1 quart in 3K miles.
The UOA showed very poor results as it only had a TBN of 2.1 after 3K miles, which is Horrible. The only oil charted with a lower TBN was the Mobile 7500 (10w-30) with a TBN of 1.8.
I will never run this oil again after results like that. 3hp on a dyno isnt anything to even think about as cooling a car down between runs can = 3 HP.
The UOA for the Eneos I ran is listed here in the oil sticky.

All I can say is be cautious of these "boutique" oils. More often than not they have proven to be out preformed by oils less than half there price.

Would you consider Motul a boutique oil?
