I would try the re-build kit first. (Yes Nissan makes one, I re-built mine)

The part code is the same, not the part number.

I imagine they are interchangeable, but who knows until they try.

FAST shows them all to be the same bore (3/4"), mounting locations are the same...

The obvious part that jumps out at you is the first has a mounting bracket or shield, #30671, the second does not show that part. It's likely a difference in mounting the slave and the cylinder itself appears identical.

I replaced mine in early 2007, for about $30 I can't see why you'd bother to rebuild it, the seals were all shot in mine. One day the clutch just didn't return and all the fluid was on the driveway. I pulled it apart and it just looked "cooked" - pieces of black stuff in the fluid, seals coming apart - at 30k miles.

They're exposed to a lot of heat in their mounting location. Check other threads about "clutch fluid overheating" or "clutch does not return when it's hot out". Highly recommend some high temp fluid (e.g. Motul) when you replace it, it's a known issue the 2003-2004 routing causes problems. Notice how baked the "heat shield" material on my line looks - it's too close to the cat and exhaust.

Mine on my early 2004 (build date Oct 2003) V35/G-Coupe mounts externally, has a cover that serves as a mounting bracket similar to that diagram - go look under the driver's side and see what you have. I thought for some reason later models moved the slave location on the Z33 and V35, either elsewhere outside the case, or inside the trans case itself.
