Default Nismo exhuast Installation

I ordered my Nismo exhuast and it should be here either Wed or Thurs. I asked the service department how much it would cost to install and he said the usual shop fee of $80/hr. I asked if he could give me an approx. time it may take to install and he said he has no idea w/ out seeing all that is involved in installing it.

My question is should I let Nissan do it and pay the fee in order to get it covered under warranty? Or get it installed somewhere else for 60 bucks an hour?

I also have some sway bars to install and I don't think I trust Nissan taking my wheels off to install them. They did a number on my factories and I don't want them touching my volks!!

Is 80/hr the going rate for service at Nissan, or does that seem a little expensive?

its outrageous that they can't quote you a labor-hour. Everything is predetermined and in a book somewhere. THats how mechanics make their money. You pay labor based on the 'book rate' no matter how long it takes them to do it, so if they do a 3 hour job in 2, they get paid 3 hours.

As for the warranty, why do you need one on some simple pipes and a muffler?

as for letting the dealer remove your wheels, I'm thinking of buying the replacement part for the drift tsb, and installing it myself, then taking it to a good alignment shop, just so they don't screw up mine

Sounds about right. We get $75.00 to install the Nismo Cat Back system. And it only takes 45 mins to do from racking the car to delivery.

$600 for exhaust installation? I'm sure you can find tons of people willing to do it for $500 for you... me included
I think that is totally a rip-off

i believe and corrent me if i am wrong:

the dealer net for the nismo exhuast = $770
and the MSRP = $1100

so if you are paying $1200, then that's a bit to much

(FYI: my friend works for nissan service)

hope this helps...

I received a flyer in the mail from my dealership that contained pictures & descriptions for some of the S-tune & R-tune Nismo products. The Cat-back exhaust system is listed at $1,100.00 MSRP, and they're offering a 10% discount. If your hearing prices above that, print the Nismo page at Courtesyparts.com...they show the cat-back @ $1,024. Maybe these $1200 dealers will do a price match.

I'll probably get shot for this, but I'll sell them to you for $1000.00 with free shipping. PM me. (sorry Mike, I know I'm not supposed to do that)
