Magnetic oil plug for Diff ?
Im about to change my 6 spd tranny oil and diff oil to Redline synthetic oil soon and was wondering if anyone knows if there are magnetic oil plugs for the tranny and diff for the 350Z, or does the car have something to take care of those loose shavings from the factory?
Anyone have any expeirence after changing their tranny and diff oil to synthetic? What brand and viscosity? How has the shifter changed and such?
Thanx guys.

just did this yesterday...hehe
anyways, the trany feels much smoother, less notchy..
i used a 50:50 mix of MTL and MTL 90
some people have used redline lightweight shockproof.
the diff i just used gear oil 75w-90
i think the diff has a magnetic plug but i dont think the tranny has one...
i purchased:
2qrt mtl
2qrt mtl90
3qrt 75w-90
hope this helps

I've changed fluids on both a track and enthusiast models and they are the same as far as draining tranny and diff fluids. If you're doing this at home use a small hand pump to fill either unit. You'll find a magnetic pick up on the rear diff drain plug (be sure to clean it off before reinsertion), but not on the tranny.
I agree with daytona350Z on the tranny fluid. But the rear diff would benefit from either Valvoline or Redline synthetic gear oil 75W-90.
Reason is the underbody aero aids are quite effective on the 350Z and the diff doesn't get much airflow for cooling. Synthetics are able to withstand more heat before breaking down and this definitely applies to the rear diff.
