1. Did I miss something? It seems like you were just driving it up and down the street and now you took it out for production. How long did you drive and test this unit before taking it out. I am concerned that it might not be tested enough to know if it is going to effect the motor.
2. What is the status of this TT being smog legal in California? Are you going to try to get it and if so, when?
Thanks, Jeff

This kit has been out in japan for a good while now.Cheston was just the prototype for the us spec version. they will more then likely offer the same boost levels as in japan. also this engine has proved that it can handle boost levels up to 10psi if tune right. I don't think that is what the entry kit will offer. I bet it will be along the lines of the procharger and greddy kit. Correct me if I am wrong Cheston

The kit has undergone extensive testing, both boost wise, and temperature wise...
several long distance/heat soaking test events were conducted and data was collected and everything is falling within operational limits of the motor... leave the concerns to the build team. we're well aware of the risks and reliability issues, as well as performance goals...
and yes, Japanese engineers have been in contact with the US engineers to compare data.... as u know.. this kit has been in testing in japan (although slightly different in piping design) for a while.
smog issue i will leave to PE USA to decide.. we're just building it and making sure it works...

More importantly, how do I get on the list to get one of the first kits for the east coast?!?!?!
I was seriously looking at the ATI Procharger, but the "jet" sound has really put me off. I'm now looking to PE or GReddy to meet my FI needs. The company that can show me the product soon with comparable (or better) gains to the Procharger will get my dough.
mcduck:
Have you heard the ATI SC in person and based on that you decided the sound was unacceptable or are you just going by sound clips? I am concerned too about it but I am holding final judgement on seeing it in person. Maybe I will like the sound in person?
I am also waiting to see specs (and cost) on Greddy/PE TT. It is hard to do but I am trying to be patient while all of these products come out.

zland...
I'm basing my decision on the video clips. I seriously doubt anyone in my area will have an FI-ed 350Z before I do. Those who are buying the car are being relatively timid about mods in this area.
If I could hear one in person, I might change my mind. In the meantime, I can just bide my time. If I get to hear the ATI before the TT kits come out, I'll be able to make a more well-informed choice. If not, who knows???
All I know is my money will be in the bank by the end of September and I'm courting all FI kit manufacturers to earn it from me!

You consider Raleigh your area?
Trust me, it's not that bad in person at all. How many times do people drive with their hood up? That's the only time it gets really loud, with it down, it's not bad at all. The videos make it sound real bad, it's not. Just my opinion!

Hmm... Charlotte... Raleigh... from country perspective maybe the same area, but I consider the same area a space where we would have a decent probably of crossing paths. Unless you are commuting to Charlotte daily, I would not consider us in the same area.

On the otherhand, if you have your ATI in, I'd love to hear it in person. Is the Raleigh 350Z group meeting anytime soon. I'd drive up there just to hear and go for a ride in your SC'd 350 so I could have first hand knowledge of the noise level...
We have 1 customer that have one kit on order. We are in Northern Virginia. We will be installing this kit also. And will offer warranty from Power Enterprise and also offer warranty on our labor.
email me, I'd like to know more. As stated above, I had targeted having enough to buy the ATI and pay for install by the end of September. I'm sure I could swing the difference for the PE TT if it will put up similar or better power numbers without sounding like a 727 on final approach.
I know that I will have to drive or at least ride in an ATI SC 350Z before I decide if i like it or not. I guess it is like when i had my 350Z on order and was reading about how linear the power curve on the Z was. I understood what others described but could not really say if I like it or not until i experienced myself.
The whine of the ATI concerns me. Hopefully, the PE and Greddy TT's will be out soon so I can experience all options before having to make a choice on which one i want.

. That must hurt to see it gone, even for a brief while.
