I believe the AIT (air intake temperature) sensor is built into the MAF sensor.

It has to be, it's the only sensor before the t-body.

That's what I thought too. But, I can't find anything that verifies this.

That's what I thought too. But, now that I am able to monitor this via the OBDII, the readings don't seem right. Right while driving. But, not right while the car is sitting afterwards. An hour or two later, the AIT will still show hot till air starts to pass through the intake. I have felt the ambiant temperature under the hood, in and around the intake and more specifically the MAF itself. It is not hot. But, the intake will hold heat and remains pretty hot for some time. So, I'm thinking it is in there. Somewhere. But, there aren't any sensors there. So, I am

Nevermind. Looks like the AIT is part of the MAF. In there somewhere. Still don't see how it retains THAT much heat. It should rise. It is cool to the touch. Yet, the sense is still 90+ degrees. Whatever...

Are you talking about the ambient air temperature, i.e. the outside temp displayed in the multi-display? That sensor is mounted in front of the radiator.

+1
Yeah, mine started reading about 5F higher after installing an oil cooler and aftermarket PS cooler.

The AIT sensor is built into the MAF assembly.

your also getting heat from your FI system, that should hold heat in the pipes.

Nope. I was talking about the AIT. It is built into the MAF. But, again, the MAF is cool to the touch. And, it doesn't contain enough metal/material to hold that much heat for that long. That is why I was thinking it was located a little further up the pipe - in the TB or something. But, it's not. So, I still don't get it. Whatever...
