Default Black stuff inside exhaust tips

I've been noticing alot of black stuff building up in my exhaust tips. I have a nismo catback and try to keep it clean and shiney, but after driving for 3 or 4 days the thick layer of black **** is back! Its like soot or something. Someone told me this happens no matter what if you floor your car and go threw the gears.

BTW , nothing appears broken and the car doesn't smoke or make weird noises.

just clean it when you wash your car. you will lose your mind trying to keep it clean otherwise.

.. and yes I am halfway convinced he is a troll but it could be a legit question lol =/

All of the revup engines with oil consumption have this issue also. Black soot will accumulate on the exhaust tips to the point that it will stain if you don't wash it off regularly.

You may be able to buff it off if it is caked on there.

Actually it's not a troll thread, honest question. I asked because my Camaro Z28 takes like a month to get black buildup in the exhaust tips, so I figured my 350Z ( being the more high tech / expensive car ) was broken.

thanks for the replys.

Maybe it has something to do with burning hydrocarbons?

Good lord...

If you really think its excessive build up, get a wideband o2 sensor and check your A/F.

Also, do you have the stock emissions equipment in place (ie. cats)?
